Hiking Highlight
The castle ruins Neidenfels lies on the Schlossberg and was built about 1330 and destroyed in 1689. It is not much to see, but still parts of a circular wall with round turrets. From here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the municipality Neidenfels.

The ruin is beautifully situated on a hillside. In any case worth seeing, even if the chimney of the paper mill in Neidenfels takes some getting used to.

Beautiful hiking trails run around the castle ruins .... From Neidenfels to the Lambert Cross .... to the Drachenfelshöhle and worth seeing .... enchanted paths back to the starting point. So the plan was .... 😂
Due to a self-inflicted wild boar encounter (off the beaten track), the tour was an absolute adventure hike .... the conclusion was then a lunch on the mysterious castle ruins.
A lovely weekend

The castle Neidenfels was built after 1229 by the Count Palatine Rudolf II. To protect the forests and the road, as well as to stay in hunts. It stands above the old vineyard terraces, which are joined together by their walls. You have a wonderful view over Neidenfels.

a great facility - only a direct staircase from Neidenfels could be a bit challenging for one or the other
