Final round in the beautiful Ardennes 🇧🇪

It is truly a privilege to be allowed to run here 🖤💛❤️



On my fourth and final round, I was even able to pick up the pace again, my fastest round. As a lowland dweller, running uphill and especially downhill is not as easy as one might think.



In the end, in the

All the memorial sites of Bastogne in one tour; plus beautiful paths and very diverse nature. We had everything: fields, meadows, pastures, coniferous forests. We could enjoy the beautiful distant views and the sun, and in the forest the spicy scent of conifers. Also, cows and horses along the way

Today I was unexpectedly faster than yesterday.

Maybe it's because I knew what to expect today, or maybe it was the penetrating wild smell in the forest 😅🌳🐗 The whole hill smelled extremely of wild boar 😬 They were probably out and about tonight/this morning.



Anyway, I'm finding

Today's destination was La Roche-en-Ardenne, a pretty little town by the water. The main goal was to visit the "Musée de la Bataille des Ardennes". As it is privately run, the opening hours are very limited.



La Roche-en-Ardenne was 90% destroyed during the Battle of the Bulge.

My first run with altitude meters; and they are indeed not entirely insignificant here 🇧🇪 😅 with 4 to 10% it goes uphill, ~160 altitude meters over 2.5 km. Not gonna lie: that's a whole different ballgame than the flat runs at home but definitely doable 💪🏻😎 and even at the end still with a 7 min

We ideally used today's rainy weather 🌧️ for a museum visit and militaria shopping 🛍️🪖💳 in Manhay and Vielsalm; towards the late afternoon it even became really beautiful with sun ⛅ We didn't want to leave that unused and went out again after dinner. The paths are quite saturated with water, at times

Holidays! 🤩 This time Mika and I ended up in the Ardennes 🇧🇪; another historically significant area. Today, we first leisurely explored the area around our holiday home 😊 It's beautiful here 😍 From tomorrow we have a lot planned; some museums, memorials, military shops, Bastogne and much more await us 😁

My best friend, who is unfortunately seriously ill, had invited us to a surprise, nobody knew what was coming, not even his wife. And then they arrived: three alpacas! 🤩 Milo, Leo and Filo accompanied us on a small hike.

I've wanted to walk this path forever, and today I finally put my plan into action. Accompanied by Fatih and in the best spring weather, we started from Kerzenheim.



The path is very well signposted and very varied. There are passages over field paths with great views and perfect for enjoying the spring
