New art object on the Abenheim Sculpture Trail.

As part of Abenheim's 1250th anniversary, the artist's new sculpture entitled "Rose Hip Triptych 6-6-24" will be erected.

The artist Bruno Feger, born in 1962 and living near Freiburg im Breisgau, is no stranger to Worms. His works have already been on display at the Worms Art Association. In Bingen, his cherry sculpture from the former State Garden Show has been preserved. The campus of the University of Frankfurt has several of his works.

    Pink blooming wild roses nearby

The new sculpture will now be located in Abenheim between the vineyards below the St. Michael's Chapel at the beginning of the embankment, from where you can continue to "Icarus" by Walter Schembs and "Daedalus" by Hans-Michael Kissel. In the immediate vicinity of the new sculpture, pink wild roses are now blooming in spring - the precursor to the later rose hips.

    Rosehips - Feger's trademark

For a good 20 years, rose hips, like other fruits, have been Bruno Feger's trademarks. However, Bruno Feger's rose hip triptych is not about imitating rose hips; rather, it is about new perspectives. They become monumental fruits made of steel and synthetic resin. In their new materiality, they become permanent and imperishable in art, unlike nature. The proximity to the chapel inspired Bruno Feger to call it a "triptych". The bending of the steel pipes is not left to chance. New spatial constellations and - depending on the viewing location - new perspectives are created.

Anyone who walks along the Abenheim Sculpture Trail will find many rose hip bushes, so this work of art, "Rose Hip Triptych", fits perfectly! As you can see at BrunoFeger.de, his rose hip artworks also fit well into the landscape elsewhere and are a joy to look at.
