These very special works of art are all part of the Abenheim Sculpture Trail, a project of the local home association. It was opened in 2009, is a good 3 km long and offers a wide panoramic view from the Odenwald over the Rhine plain to the Palatinate Forest. The starting point is the approximately four-meter-long high stands used to ward off the starlings, which Wingertschütz climbed with the ladder at the time in order to chase away the swarms of stars in autumn with a start pistol. This form of star defense has long been a thing of the past, since electronic defense has been used for decades. A few years ago in Abenheim the idea came up to make these high stands available to artists. This path crosses with the Rheinterrassen, Jakobs and Luther paths, and can therefore be extended as desired.
