The history of the Herrnsheim Palace dates back to 1460. At that time there was a massive castle that was converted into a baroque palace around 250 years later. However, it was badly affected by the coalition war in 1792. Between 1809 and 1844, the palace was repeatedly rebuilt in the Empire style to what it is today.
From April to October you can visit it as part of a two-hour tour on the third Sunday of the month at 10.30 a.m. The tour costs 6 euros, children up to 14 years have free admission.

Herrnsheim Castle and its park belong together. The approximately ten-hectare castle park is the most important English landscape garden in Rhineland-Palatinate. Strolling here might feel like you're in one of Jane Austen's novels. See also worms-erleben.de.
