Humming Stone for Young and Old - Picard Company 2012
A deep, humming exhalation creates sounds in the humming holes, making them tangible. (Note: Simply breathing is not enough!)
Humming stones from various cultures have existed for millennia in connection with healing and meditation. The special education teacher and artist Hugo Kükelhaus (1900-1984) saw them as a sensory experience. The entire arrangement around the humming stone, a piece of red sandstone from the Palatinate region, invites visitors to balance on tree trunks and rest on benches.
