Marienplatz in Friedberg, Bavaria, is the historic center of the city and a popular meeting place for residents and visitors. Events and markets that enrich the city's cultural life are held here regularly.

Every Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Marienplatz is transformed into a lively weekly market. The stalls offer regional specialties such as fruit, vegetables, flowers, eggs, spices, pasta, as well as meat, fish, sausage and cheese products. This market offers an ideal opportunity to buy fresh products directly from local producers.

In addition to the weekly market, Marienplatz also hosts various annual fairs that are among the city's traditional events. These include the Flower Festival at the end of March, the Fruit Festival at the beginning of August, the Pumpkin Festival at the end of September and the Plätzlefest at the beginning of November. These theme festivals were awarded the 10th Bavarian City Marketing Prize in 2020.
