Greifswald is an interesting city with its many churches and administrative buildings in the Brick Gothic style. Even in Grimmen, this architectural style can be seen on the city gates and town hall. Outside the cities, the area is very Pomeranian, even remote.
Still 3,400 km to Santiago de Compostela

It was a rainy day, starting at 12:30 a.m. and continuing nonstop until late afternoon. Not so fun when you have to pack up your wet tent in the morning. Luckily, the youth hostel in Greifswald still had space. It's a very wooded area.

I left the island of Usedom in Wolgast. It's still high season for Baltic Sea resorts, and accordingly, there's a lot going on. That changed abruptly when I left Wolgast. There's absolutely nothing going on on the poorly or even completely unmarked Way of St. James.

First day on the Via Baltica – the Way of St. James – Via Baltica takes a slightly different approach. I wanted to explore the seaside resorts on the Baltic coast, so I walked through the tourist crowds. The route was teeming with cyclists, after all, it was the Baltic Sea Cycle Route.

Today, the adult education center's hiking group 3 was out with 33 people. We stopped at the Gasthof Jägerwirt in Kirchbichl – the food wasn't bad, although the waiter took forever to take the cash, but we still recommend the inn.
Our route: Bad Tölz – Ellbach – Kirchbichl – Kirchsee – Reutberg Monastery – Schaftlach.

With 53 participants, our Saturday pilgrimage today was incredibly well attended. Despite the persistent rain, so many people came for the pilgrimage, many of whom were first-timers (about 30% newcomers).
Starting at the entrance to the Botanical Garden, the trail leads through the Siebentischwald forest.

Twelve people joined the Way of St. James pilgrimage to Hinterschellenbach today. The group walked the last 5 kilometers in the rain.

When I started in the forest behind the chicken farm, the weather was perfect. Nevertheless, the route stretched across harvested fields. The area around Triebsee is very sparsely populated, with tiny hamlets without any shops. Now I'm quite happy that I managed to get a room in Bad Sülze.
