    Lönspark on "Haacks-Köppsche"

The well-known nature lover and heath poet Hermann Löns (1866-1914) planned a nature park in the Harz Mountains. Georg Haack (1900-1987) realized this idea here at this point in the Baybach valley. For the public inauguration of the “Löns nature reserve in the Hunsrück” on June 2, 1929, Haack describes the flora and fauna in detail, and literally: “... The widest point of the mountain is in the southwest. This is where the Lönshaus is built, a typical forest farm with a ridge cross and a deep, sloping weather roof. ... ”The Haack family lived in this property until 1938. Then they moved to the former Neumühle - renamed Lönshof - further up in the Baybachtal. The animals from the enclosures at Lönspark went with them. This ended the actual idea of the Lönspark. The Neumühle burned to the ground in 1979. And after Georg Haack's death in 1987, the park fell into complete disrepair. Only a few remains of the wall are reminiscent of the small house on the “Haacksköppsche” Source: Text information board

In the 1920s, the nature lover and globetrotter Georg Haack, called Haacks Köppche, created a nature reserve in the Morshausen municipal forest, with which he expressed his veneration for the poet Hermann Löns, because Löns wanted to set up such a nature reserve in the Harz Mountains , The park was set up with a lot of effort and support from the local population and was inaugurated in June 1929. Haack also lived there. Individual remains of the wall still remind of it.
