The Ypres War Victims Monument, also known as "The Ieper Fury", commemorates the civilian and military victims of Ypres during the First and Second World Wars. It was designed by Jules Homère Martin Coomans and completed by Aloïs De Beule in 1926. It is located at the Boterstraat, near the western entrance to the Cloth Hall. The monument became particularly well-known due to the riots at its unveiling in 1926, when the Flemish Veterans' Association protested against the lack of Flemish recognition, which led to confrontations with the Gendarmerie. This gave the monument the nickname "The Ieper Fury".
