Small stone church well worth seeing. It is (at least in November 2018) an open church and can be visited. Well worth a visit. The interior with the altar, pulpit and organ is beautiful, if a little neglected. There has certainly not been a service here for a while.

"The village church in Borne is one of the oldest village churches in Fläming. The mention of a church in Borne in a document from 1227 should already refer to this building. It has largely preserved its original appearance. The interior is also worth seeing. "

In 1227, Count Baderich II von Belzig gave the church or the church pledges to the Colebecke (Cölbigk) monastery on the Wipper near Bernburg (Anhalt). It is believed that this already relates to the preserved structure. The church is probably one of the oldest stone churches in Fläming. It once carried the Pankratius patronage. [2]
The church is a late Romanesque hall church made of field stone with a recessed, rectangular choir and apse from the first quarter of the 13th century. The brickwork is only slightly squared. A half-timbered roof tower with a massive west wall, curved hood and octagonal lantern, which was renewed in 1908, is built over the west gable. The following are preserved in their original form: the western step portal, the walled-in round arch portal on the southern choir wall and several of the high-seated small windows on the north side, the others were extended in 1908 with round arches. A former community portal in the south wall of the ship can only be seen in traces. The interior has a flat roof and shows a round arched triumphal and apse arch, on the north side the beginnings of the choir screen can still be seen [2]. The polychromy was created and the furnishings were added during a restoration in 1908. In 2003 the western part of the church was scaffolded and the tower renovated.
