St. Mary's Church, construction of which began in the 13th century, is the visible landmark of the former episcopal city of Wittstock and a stop on the bishop's tour. From the baroque tower you have a wide view over the city and the surrounding area. It has an interior that is worth seeing, such as the altar structure consisting of 2 carved altars, a late Gothic sacrament shrine, a Baroque wooden baptismal font, a Madonna in a halo, the Lütkemüller organ and the pulpit. The church also houses the permanent exhibition “Church and Power – the Episcopal Era in Wittstock”. In the summer months there are regular concerts. St. Mary's is the parish's summer church, the Heilig-Geist Church (near the Gröper Tor) is the winter church. Changing exhibitions can also be seen in the Heilig-Geist-Kirche.
