The current building of the Wittstock town hall had numerous predecessors. When it was built in 1905/06, historicism was booming. The citizens received a town hall with numerous historical additions. For example the court arbor on the back. The west gable, which is typical of North German brick Gothic, was also skilfully fitted into the neo-Gothic new building. The tower with the baroque dome is reminiscent of the St. Marien Cathedral in Fürstenwalde (Spree). The medieval cellar vaults cannot be seen from the outside.
