Until the beginning of the 19th century, Roschlaub was under the sovereignty of the Bamberg Monastery. The village and community rulership exercised its office in Scheßlitz as bailiwick. When the Bamberg Monastery was secularized as a result of the Imperial Deputation Main Conclusion in 1802/03 and annexed by the Electorate of Palatinate-Bavaria in breach of the imperial constitution, Roschlaub became part of the New Bavarian territories taken over during the “Napoleonic land consolidation”.
As a result of the administrative reforms at the beginning of the 19th century in the Kingdom of Bavaria, Roschlaub became a rural community with the second municipal edict in 1818. As part of the municipal regional reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, the municipality of Roschlaub was incorporated into the municipality of Stübig at the beginning of 1972. On May 1, 1978, the town and the municipality of Stübig were incorporated into the city of Scheßlitz. In 1987 Roschlaub had 75 residents.

Beautiful half-timbered buildings decorate the village. From the outskirts there are views of Bamberg and the Altenburg
