    LPV Obermain:
"To say it straight away: "Lahma" is the local Franconian expression for clay. And the "White Lahma" refers to the white limestone clay that is widespread here, which can be seen in the photo.
But that also says a lot about its supra-regional value for nature conservation. A very distinctive biotope complex of dry and semi-dry grassland with species-rich fringes surrounded by a very sparse pine forest can be found here on an area of around 10 hectares. Just a few decades ago, the nearby dry grasslands and juniper heaths near Stübig and Roßdach were linked to the Weißer Lahma. The network was interrupted by reforestation.
Due to the arable land used historically in some places, irregular terrain levels were created. Hollows and gullies newly created by erosion contribute to the rich structure. Within a few years, large-scale measures could be implemented here with the help of a BayernNetz Natur project. This is how a real gem was created in the biotope network. A habitat has been preserved for many animal species.
Much has also been achieved to protect the diverse flora."

(I didn't originally put the info on the White Lahma in one section, but in one point. Highlights may have been combined... )

This section of the trail is not the "White Lahma." It is, among other things, the MD hiking trail.
