This Highlight goes through a protected area
Please check local regulations for: Naturpark Fränkische Schweiz - Frankenjura
Location: Ebensfeld, Lichtenfels, Upper Franconia, Bavaria, Germany
In the area there is a lot of "Celtic" and it is also vigorously marketing operated. But this highlight has nothing to do with the Celts!
This is not a former "Celtic settlement" and not a prehistoric section fortification but a very interesting fortification from the early Middle Ages. Due to the design estimated time of origin 8.-10. Century. An archaeological investigation has not yet taken place.

A climb and short visit is worthwhile. You can still see clear wall and ditch remains and is surprised at the rock spur with an exposed rock cliff with a wonderful view of the Staffelberg and its plateau!
Tip: Good goers can also descend on the west side of a trail on the walking around the foot trail.
