Despite its 100 years, which it celebrated in 2008, the Rostock Holy Spirit Church is a young church: the average age of the parishioners is 35 years. There are reasons for this: The church is in the middle of the Kröpeliner-Tor suburb, KTV for short – the most popular residential area in Rostock for students and young families. This is also noticeable in the parish: there are children's services, a pre-school group, parents' meeting, theater groups, a children's and an adult choir. The neo-Gothic building by Johannes Vollmer, which was consecrated in 1908 and decorated with Art Nouveau-style paintings, is ideal for concerts and events thanks to its column-free interior and three galleries tonally excellent concert instrument.

In addition to church services, the church is also used for concerts of various musical genres.
