🏛️ The Old Town Hall was in use from 1541 to 1860 and is one of the most beautiful half-timbered buildings in the old town. Götz von Berlichingen was appointed field captain in the Peasants' War here in 1525 – a place steeped in history!

A timber-framed building dating from 1541 with a stone basement and a gateway to the former hospital courtyard. The two upper floors housed the offices of the mayor, city council, and citizens' committee until 1860, classrooms from 1837 to 1910, later the municipal kindergarten, and after 1945, living quarters for displaced persons. The basement housed the city's fire department equipment until the 19th century; more recently, it housed the district savings bank and later specialty shops.
