Beautiful, well-preserved hilltop castle with a museum, "tavern" and accommodation - and of course the already widely praised bird show. In the restaurant there are some terrace places with a fantastic view over the Neckar valley. Very crowded on weekends - at least in summer.

Very nice place. The bird of prey show is highly recommended, as well as the tour around the birds of prey to see up close. From the castle mine has a great view over the Neckar valley.

Nice to look at, but I personally was then too full. For people shy more of an excursion destination for the week. Museum with charge, parking facilities available on site.

Beautiful castle from which you can start some tours if you want or you can watch the birds of prey show. Also worth seeing for children.

The castle Guttenberg is a late medieval hilltop castle over Neckarmühlbach, a district of Haßmersheim in the Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis. The castle was never destroyed and has been continuously inhabited for almost 800 years, since the middle of the 15th century by the Gemmingen-Guttenberg line the Barons of Gemmingen. The plant accommodates u. a. the German Greifenwarte as well as a castle museum and a restaurant.

While the private homes of the castle owners are located in the eastern residential building, the castle museum is located in the west. Here the visitor gets explanations about knights and medieval jurisdiction. He sees among many other exhibits the famous Guttenberg wooden library of Carl von Hinterlang from the years around 1790 and the two Late Gothic altarpieces, which stood for many centuries on the side altars of the castle chapel. The keep can be climbed during the opening hours of the museum and offers a wonderful view over the Neckar valley.

The castle Guttenberg is well known by the accommodation of the German Greifenwarte, which attracts many visitors with its flight demonstrations. In the kennel, the aviaries are set up, and in the former castle garden on the valley side of the castle is the free flight area with the Schaubühne. Outside the castle, in front of the main gate, the castle tavern is operated in an outbuilding.

Guttenberg Castle is particularly well-known for the Deutsche Greifenwarte and the flight demonstrations it organizes. The castle itself is a late medieval hilltop castle between the Neckar and Mühlbachtal valleys. Since it has not been destroyed in the course of history and has been continuously inhabited for almost 800 years, it reflects the structural developments from the medieval castle to only use today.

You just have to go to Gutenberg Castle and its falcons. From the castle you have a fantastic view of the Neckar valley and the Odenwald. And the kitchen in the economy is not to be despised either. There is also a lot for the children to linger there.

The castle "Guttenberg" is located near "Neckarmühlbach", a district of Haßmersheim in the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg.- one of the oldest castles in all of Germany
    - "Advantage": the castle was never destroyed
    - Interesting information at burg-guttenberg.de
    - "Burg der Adler" = seat of the "Deutsche Greifwarte", see komoot.de/highlight/3121318- The castle is very busy during the holiday season, on weekends and when the weather is great

Actually, Guttenberg Castle is far too interesting to just walk past it!
Recommended is the museum, the gastronomy (e.g. knight's meal) and the flight demonstrations of the griffin station. So definitely plan an extra visit.
