The tower castle Alt-Berneck is the oldest of the Berneck castles (11th century). Today, only the foundation walls and ramparts can be seen in the dense forest. The information board at the edge of the path explains the history without disturbing the historical image.

Well you don't see much anymore, only the bottom foundation wall and it is quite overgrown, but the information boards are very nicely done and when you are already there you go of course.

In the place you can see very well the remains of the existing tower. The tower castle can be reached via a narrow path. So not suitable for families with prams.
