The history of the Singerweiher goes back to the late 15th century. It was probably dammed back then to wash ore, which was then processed in the nearby saber mill. A Cuntz singer is said to be the builder – hence the name.
Today, the Singerweiher is a near-natural body of water, an important resting and breeding ground for several species of waterfowl and a habitat for numerous other organisms.
