The history of the Singerweiher goes back to the late 15th century. At that time it was probably dammed up to wash ore, which was processed in the nearby singling mill. A Cuntz singer is considered to be the builder - hence the name.
Today the Singerweiher is a near-natural body of water, an important resting and breeding place for numerous species of water birds and a habitat for numerous other organisms.
