Niehrenheim ran a bookshop specializing in sheet music and Wagner literature on Ludwigstrasse in Bayreuth. He also published several festival guides and gained further recognition through the founding of the Bayreuth Freemasons Museum in 1902.
He also wrote the Berneck song "Perle, süße kleine Perle" (Pearl, sweet little pearl).
