In 1822, Landgravine Elizabeth, known as Eliza in the family circle, received the "Small Tannenwald" for life. She had everything thoroughly restored, but kept the essential structures of the Anglo-Chinoise park as her mother-in-law had laid it out in the 1770s: the regularly shaped flower beds, the avenue and the portico in the entrance area, the pond with its island and the Colonnade and the "natural" grove. But it also created a completely new area of its own: a small model farm that produced agricultural products such as milk, cream, butter, eggs, honey, fruit and nuts, and which ultimately included an ensemble of three buildings in addition to outbuildings: the Schwei -zerei (1822), the dairy (1832) and an ice cellar (around 1832). The necessary pastures and fields were outside the original park area, where the allotment garden area is today. The English king's daughter brought the idea with her from her homeland as an enthusiastic and knowledgeable garden lover.
