Hiking Highlight
Even today, the Eckartsburg is a handsome and partially preserved ruin that offers visitors a lot of things to see.
Ekkehard I von Meißen had the Eckartsburg built in 998 to secure his empire and to protect the trade routes.
A visit to the keep with a mega view and a rustic restaurant complete the visit.

The Eckartsburg, also known as Eckartsberga, is a partially preserved hilltop castle and is located on a ridge of the Finnish landscape, more precisely on the southern edge of the foothills of the Finns ridge, above the small town of Eckartsberga in the Burgenland district, in the Saale-Unstrut-Triasland nature park, near the state border of Saxony -Stop to Thuringia. Really very nice 🦊🐈🌞
