becoming a pet:
"The Valais goats are also called "glacier goats" because of their origin, in Valais itself they were called "Vispenthaler goat", "saddle goat" or "Halsene". They are hardy and particularly well adapted to being kept in the mountains. Originally, African immigrants brought this goat to Switzerland around AD 930. It is more likely, however, that it descended from the extinct Italian copper goat Sexes are horned, but the horns are much heavier in bucks, and adult bucks can weigh up to 70 kg.
The color combination of the Valais goats helps the shepherds to find their animals that graze freely in the Swiss mountains. The black front part is easy to see in winter when there is snow. In summer, on the other hand, the white hind quarters of the animals can be seen from afar."
