"The ancestor of all domestic goats is the Bezoar goat (Capra aegagrus). The domestication (becoming a pet) of domestic goats took place about 8,000 years ago. This makes the goat the oldest domestic animal after the dog. Goats are very frugal animals brought to Europe from Africa in the 17th century. Today there are many different colors: from black to brown to white, piebald and many others."
