While the fruit market is located at one end of the arcades, the Piazza del Municipio (Town Hall Square) is at the other—eastern—end: it marks the lower end of the Bindergasse (Coopers' Lane).

It was originally Trinity Square. However, when the town hall under the arcades became too small after almost five centuries, the square was renamed Town Hall Square, and construction began on a new, prestigious seat for the Bolzano city administration.

The Bolzano Town Hall was completed in 1907.

Several other frescoed buildings adorn Town Hall Square, including the Amon House to the east with its Rococo stucco decoration. Every Friday morning, the farmers' market takes place in Town Hall Square, where regional producers offer their fresh produce: fruits and vegetables, farm cheeses, free-range eggs, baked goods, herbs, bacon, and cut flowers.
