On January 14, 1933, the Austrian-Israeli Jewish religious philosopher Martin Mordechai Buber and the Protestant theologian Karl Ludwig Schmidt met.
The two discussed the question of the covenant between God and the Jews, with Buber addressing precisely this line of sight in order to make his thoughts on it a little more concrete.

As part of the Schum sites, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021.
In the newer burial ground you will find the "Martin-Buber-Blick" with an impressive view over the old burial ground to the cathedral.
