The ford got its humorous name because it was said that even an ox could cross it without falling into the water. In fact, it is so wide and stable that two people can comfortably pass side by side.

The ox-piano is a kind of ford to cross the Pfrimm. I have not had the experience to cross it, but would rather try it in the summer at low tide.

Hiking

Actually completely irrelevant, since 1898 built. Whether animals were driven here at all over the Pfrimm, I dare to doubt. Shortly thereafter, the bridge was built on the Pfiffligheimer weir. Like the castle tower, the ox-piano is more of a tribute to a bygone era that seemed to inspire Karl Bittel.
