"The Johann Wülfing & Sohn cloth factory is history. According to tradition, it was founded in Lennep in 1674 and closed its doors forever in 1996 as one of the last German victims in the competitive struggle of the international textile industry. The factory buildings have remained. They bear witness to the former size and importance of the company.The members of the Johann Wülfing & Sohn Museum e.V. have been cultivating the memories of their lost world and making them accessible to interested parties since 1997. The museum association also received help from the NRW Foundation for the exhibition, which also included the voluntary work supported for the monument."
