The Kellergasse on Katharinenberg is the largest cellar alley in Bavaria and, with the Plassenburg, the largest man-made bat winter roost in Upper Franconia. Kellergasse is also registered as an architectural monument in the Bavarian Monument Preservation List. Construction of the beer cellars began in 1832. In July 1834 there were already 32 cellar owners.
