Ringwall prehistoric time setting and section fortification of the high and late Middle Ages. The plant is not archaeologically examined. Bodenskmal D-4-6032-0071.
Source; Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments
I have rarely seen such a relatively good terrain recognizable facility. The integration into the existing topology (steep slopes, rocks) is outstanding.
The plant is virtually untouchable from the west, south and north. The weak point on the east side (from the Junfernhöhle) is protected by a marked elevated terrain. I think that this is also the medieval castle stables with a clearly recognizable neck trench to the east.
With about 17 hectares, it is about twice as large as the similar, archaeologically examined and documented on the site very beautifully documented facility on the castle hill at Burggailenreuth (visit highly recommended!), But much smaller than the similar facility on the Altenberg at Burggrub or even the Ehrenbürg. The reconstruction of a wall can be seen on the Ehrenbürg.
If you are interested in such systems, I recommend that you go completely out of the scope of this system and think a little bit into it.
