The castle stable Alte Veste or Alte Vestung was probably a late medieval noble castle. The remains of the former spur castle are around 850 meters east-northeast of Oberailsfeld on the west side of the Ailsbach valley. Not much is known about the history of the castle, nor is its name. The castle was apparently destroyed by Konrad von Aufseß, who was then at Rabenstein Castle and was in the service of the Nuremberg burgraves, shortly after its construction.
