The bakery in Eppingen, a town in the district of Heilbronn in northern Baden-Württemberg, is the oldest known half-timbered house in the Kraichgau. It is located at Altstadtstraße No. 36 and is protected as a cultural monument.

Dendrochronological investigations have shown that the half-timbered house was built around 1412. The usual construction of the late Middle Ages was the ridge post construction with long, strong timbers. Here, in the new storey construction, slender timbers were used; it can therefore be assumed that no strong long trunks could be felled in the forests at that time. The storey building is characterized by only storey-high walls in the outer wall structure, for which short, slender timbers were used at a small distance. Also new are the Alemannic window bays with protruding window frames and the storey-high, overhanging struts. The Swabian man used here originated in the first half of the 15th century. Only the right eaves side of the ground floor is half-timbered, the other sides are bricked with local sandstone. There are still many original parts in the three attic floors.
