A narrow, inconspicuous path branches off inconspicuously from the boardwalk. Uphill it goes to Noir Flohay, the ghost forest. Alone the way there, a pleasure. Wide open fen landscape, what more could you ask for. From a distance we see charred tree remains, a mystical sight. Attempts to plant the first spruce trees began as early as 1850 in the "Noir Flohay" ghost forest. But several fires made it look so deserted and bare today. The spooky place gains in charm especially at sunset. After leaving the Geisterwald behind us, we descend again via nature trails until we reach our original wooden footbridge again, which takes us uphill in Rchtg. Michels Hütte or Signal de Botrange leads.
