The headwaters of the Ternellbach stream, which is not accessible, are located south-east of the Ternell Nature Park Centre.

The headwaters of the Hill, also known as the Black River, are near Baraque Michel, in the Walloon Fens. The Hill was formerly a border river between Prussia and Belgium. In the upper area there are historical boundary stones at regular intervals. These P/B boundary stones are not to be found in the hill valley, where the stream has grown to an impressive size and could therefore also be clearly defined as a border river.

Great and unspoilt paths to "slow down" - immediately after you set off into the forest at the Haus Ternell nature center, the silence of the High Fens takes you in.
