About Bernd 🌲🦌🍄🥾

After it has rained almost continuously in the High Fens since mid-November and today was the first promising day with some sun, I went on a late autumn circular hike through the Fen landscape near Baraque Michel in the morning. My goal was to experience the unique panoramas and the beauty of the raised…

Today's hiking stage through the Steinley Fens to the Brackvenn, which led over wooden footbridges but mainly along dam paths, was a journey through the untouched autumnal beauty of the raised moors of the High Fens.

Despite the rainy weather, today I decided to explore the beauty of the autumn fen landscape of Malchamps. The autumnal colors of the fen landscape paired with the reflections of the trees in the water of the palsen and moor lakes promised to be worth the effort.
I started my hike from the Domaine Berinzenne…

In autumn the moor landscape unfolds its most magical palette of colors. A region in the High Fens represents this in very impressive colors, the Brackvenn near Mützenich.
This unique landscape invites you to go on an exciting hike amidst the diverse ocher tones of the pipe grasses. Located in a picturesque…

Today we went on a hike in the Eben-Emael region, which essentially took us to three notable sights:
the tower of Eben-Ezer, the marl and flint caves and the impressive fortress of Eben-Emael.
Our hike began at the foot of the Montagne Saint-Pierre and after 4.9 km led to the remarkable tower of Eben-Ezer…

On the penultimate day of our stay in Aosta, we turned our attention once again to this beautiful city.
If we look at the pictures of the old town afterwards, we both inevitably go into raptures. There is no stressful urban hustle and bustle here and in combination with the numerous restaurants, cafés…

I had read in particular about the “Orrido di Pré-Saint-Didier” in brochures. It is an impressive, huge valley gorge into which a viewing platform rises at a height of 180 m and offers visitors a spectacular valley view of the Dora di Verney river.
After numerous hikes and excursions into the mountains…

An icy breath of -5 degrees enveloped the fen landscape of Baraque Michel when I set off from the hiking car park at the Michels Hut this morning to explore the snow-covered wolf territory in the Hoëgne valley. The cloudy sky did not predict a sunny winter day and the snow crunched under my feet in the…
