A path takes you along the Begijnenbeek in a very green environment...

The Begijnenbeek valley is a nature reserve. It runs through areas such as the Gasthuisbos forest reserve and the Hermansheuvel, along meadows where even orchids occur in the spring. It also runs through the Halve Maan domain and - of course, see its name - through the beguinage of Diest. From there it goes to the Saspoort where it flows into the Demer.

The Begijnenbeek starts in Meensel (from Meensel-Kiezegem, part of Tielt-Winge) and flows into the Demer in Diest. The Begijnenbeek also plays an important role in the historical story of Diest and often caused flooding.
