The Bolhuiskapel is the oldest chapel in Molenstede and is also called the white chapel. You can find the Bolhuiskapel at the intersection of Asdonkstraat and a forest road in the Dassenaarde nature reserve. The 'white chapel' was built around 1775 near the former Bolhuishoeve.
From the Bolhuiskapelletje you look out over the beautiful valley in which the Kleine and Grote Beek flow together to form the Zwarte Beek. The old tenant farm "Bolhuis" is a typical Kempen long-facade farm that consisted entirely of loam until the end of the nineteenth century. Currently, stone has been built on top of it and you can only see some remains of the mud walls inside the farm. The walls of the farm stand on foundations of local iron sandstone.
Extensive historical research has shown that during the First World War the Germans constructed training trenches in various places in the vicinity of the airfield after the Schaffen airfield was constructed. D

The Bolhuiskapelleke has existed for more than 500 years, which is as long as farming has been going on on the slightly further away farm, Het Bolhuis. See also the 'history' section on bolhuis.be/ons-verhalen
