Occasion: 125th anniversary of the birth of Hermann Hesse
Description: The life-size statue represents the 55-year-old Hesse during his last visit to Calw in the early 1930s. It can be proven that he really enjoyed spending time here, at his favorite place. The artist gave it the name "Between linger and departure", based on one of Hesse's principles of life. ("...steady with both feet on the homeland, but at the same time turned to walking with the hat in the hand.")
