The tall, two-storey building in late Gothic style once served as a sick chapel and library. Today it is the evangelical parish church of Hirsau.

1508 and 1516: Construction of the late Gothic building
1888-92: Renovation. The Gothic vaulted ceiling, which was replaced in the 18th century, is restored.
At the same time: extension of the west side with the wheel window and the two stair towers.
1970: renovation; colorful stained glass windows by Wolf-Dieter Kohler are set into the Gothic window reveals.

Style/Building Features: Tall two-story chapel; dainty interior
with balanced colors, restored ceiling paintings, a wooden pulpit
Special features: The only monastery building (apart from a few administrative buildings) that survived the fire of 1692 unscathed.
Architectural feature: former library hall of the monastery on the upper floor.
The busts of the twelve apostles form the end of the wall columns: the figures carry banners on which originally parts of the creed were written, which the apostles are said to have written together according to old tradition. A new color version with modification of the banner texts took place in the 19th century.
