Housed in an 18th-century building in the heart of Turckheim, this museum commemorates the fierce winter battles of 1944–1945 that led to the liberation of Alsace. The “Colmar Pocket” was the last bastion of Nazi Germany on French soil. The museum displays an impressive collection of uniforms, weapons, vehicles and personal items, supplemented by photographs, posters and film footage. An American field howitzer stands in front of the door.

Residence of the mayor and mayor in the 18th and 19th centuries. It later served as a rectory until 1972. Since 1994, a museum commemorating the liberation struggle for Colmar (1944-45) has been housed. In the enclosure wall, a memorial stone can be seen on the St. James Way to Santiago de Compostela.
The museum shows a collection of objects and tells, with incredible precision, the history of the battles around Colmar and the surrounding area, including the "Battle of the Colmar Bridgehead" from August 1944
