The Aaigemdries probably arose during the first exploitations in the Middle Ages. The first mention appears in the Caerte ende discriptive vande gheel den Lande van Aelst by Jacques Horenhault (anno 15(9)6). The Aaigemdries was schematically indicated, including the pond and/or the watering hole.

A driesplein is usually a triangular square that in the Middle Ages served as a communal meadow or gathering place for the village herd at nightfall.
You can still experience the atmosphere of yesteryear here. Nice that this location, with its surrounding buildings, has retained its historical value. Top location to visit and enjoy an artisanal ice cream. Hoeve Van Den Bossche will certainly tickle your taste buds. Just enjoy the shade and replenish your sugar shortages.
