The park's creator Friedrich Hermann Rötschke had the Kavalierhaus built in the Swiss country house style in the 1860s and used it as a guest house. The later counts of the von und zu Egloffstein-Arklitten family, who lived in Kromlau from 1889 to 1945, used it primarily as a summer residence.

The late romantic wall paintings (allegories) on the galleries of the Kavalierhaus by Erhard Ludewig Winterstein are particularly valuable and worth preserving. These Winterstein paintings can also be found in the entrance hall of Kromlau Castle and thus form a design unit. There are also putti incorporated into the gables of the Kavalierhaus and the elaborately carved wooden galleries from Rötschke's time are also worth preserving and fit in with the ensemble.
