The Trebnitzbach stream, at almost twelve kilometers long, is one of the most voluminous streams in our region. It is also one of the longest, unimpeded streams in Saxony. Getting to the Trebnitz valley from Börnchen today presented some challenges, as the hiking trail was covered with meter-high snowdrifts

During a visit to some loved ones in the hospital last week, this little tour in the area around Kreischa came about spontaneously. Even in winter, the walk through the woods around Grillenburg Hunting Lodge is wonderful. With the fresh powder snow that fell in recent days, it was a real treat today. Few hikers and cross-country skiers shared the deep snow-covered forest paths, and the car was safely parked in the cleared parking

In decidedly chilly, sub-zero temperatures, we hiked in the Wesenitz Valley today, starting from Stolpen.
