Hiking

New building of the city administration's building department, completed in 2000, and an urban landmark in Berg am Laim near the Ostbahnhof (East Train Station).

A special feature is the publicly accessible inner courtyard, the so-called "Courtyard in the Wind": the center of the green space is a circular disc that is set into a very slow rotation by a wind turbine on the roof of the high-rise building, so that the shape of the courtyard is constantly changing.

Hiking

The work of art comes from the New York artist Vito Acconci. It was opened in 2000 as part of QUIVID, the art - in - building program of the building department of the City of Munich. As soon as the wind drives the twelve meter high rotor, electricity is produced. The electricity then sets a disc with a tree, bench, lantern, path and meadow in motion in the courtyard of the building. Depending on the weather, the rotor only runs from May to October.
