In the course of the development of Paulsstadt and the expansion of Mecklenburgstrasse and Arsenalstrasse, the architect Georg Adolph Demmler received a corner plot on the southern bank of the Pfaffenteich as a gift from Grand Duke Paul Friedrich. Demmler erected his three-storey house there in a classicistic-historical design language. The ground floor has been used for commercial purposes since it was built. To date, the building has gone through several phases of conversion and renovation.
