Schwerin train station
Often only the princess lives in the palace. In Schwerin, the palace belongs to all train passengers. Behind the magnificent facade of the Wilhelminian building, travelers at Schwerin train station can see a tidy interior. Signage and information are exemplary,
even non-locals can find their way around.
Brief history of the train station:
1847: Schwerin receives its first rail connection with the line to Hagenow
1889/90: The current train station building is built in the representative Wilhelminian style on the site of the previous building from 1847.
1920s: Construction of the station underpass and lowering of the entrance hall
December 2005: After three and a half years of modernization, the train station was officially reopened.allianz-pro-schiene.de/wettbewerbe/bahnhof-des-jahres/bahnhof-schwerin
