Sloup is mainly a recreational village, located in the wide valley of the Dobranovské stream at the northwestern foot of the Svojkovské vrchy, about 3 km southeast of Nové Bor. It has about 700 inhabitants and is a popular resort thanks to its interesting monuments and picturesque surroundings. Previously, it also included the southwestern settlement of Janov, which today is part of Nové Bor. The landscape in the wide vicinity was once covered by a continuous border forest, which was only very sparsely populated. One of the few archeologically documented old settlements is precisely the distinctive rock suk on the southern edge of Sloup, at the foot of which objects from the Late Stone Age were found, dating back to the end of the 3rd millennium BC

A bit off the beaten track, but worth it, as it was expanded with a covered seating made of wood.

On some very narrow path and over some old steps to the pavilion. The path goes a little further and there is another nice view.
