"For the 1,100th anniversary of the district town of Mettmann, the Aule Mettmanner citizens' and local association donated the bronze statues of Fritz Geldmacher and Willi Schriever.

Fritz Geldmacher, the founder and first long-time Baas, seems to be in an intensive conversation with his companion Willi Schriever, who was known and popular for his dialect contributions.

An endearing detail is the cat, which looks fascinated at the mouse at Schriever's feet. The latter stands out because of her shiny nose, because some people in Mettmann believe that rubbing their nose is supposed to bring a bit of luck."
